Dr. Roberto Markarian is a reference in dental implants and computerized dental prostheses in Brazil. After several years of suffering from the services of outsourced prosthetic laboratories, such as lack of punctuality, poor aesthetics and inadequate materials, we decided to set up a dedicated team and acquire our own equipment.
Since 2012, all our work can be carried out more quickly in our prosthetics laboratory, which is staffed by a specialized team and state-of-the-art systems within the clinic.
We were the first dental clinic in São Paulo and certainly one of the first in Brazil to offer these technologies.
All the systems are based on the Cad/Cam system, in which the model is scanned by contact readers or by laser beams. All the information collected by the computer is sent over the internet.

Odontophobia (fear of the dentist) is a condition that occurs in a small percentage of patients and can vary in intensity. In milder cases, the patient reports some anxiety and may experience tachycardia, a feeling of panic, excessive sweating, dizziness and even fainting.
In our clinic, we have received reports of patients experiencing tachycardia and perspiration when simply starting a conversation with the dentist. Occasionally, there are cases of odontophobia with atypical symptoms, such as nausea, excessive nauseaand intolerance when touching the mouth.
Fear of the dentist can seriously damage your oral health
Dental treatment for patients with a fear of dentists can be difficult, even for simple procedures such as impressions, cleanings and restorations. In situations of severe phobia, a procedure such as implant surgery or even tooth extractions may be unthinkable for the patient.
As a result of the fear of the dentist, patients often refuse to go to the dentist for years, and as a result, oral problems such as cavities and periodontal infections arise, or even serious problems such as tooth mobility and loss, as well as aesthetic impairment of the smile.
The psychological origin of odontophobia is linked to traumatic episodes (trauma) that have been fixed in the patient’s subconscious, most often since childhood. The phobic patient can be treated with:
Psychotherapy
Sedation with nitrous oxide – however, in our clinic it has been abandoned because it doesn’t produce good results as it generates very light sedation.
Intravenous sedation – the technique is really effective. The patient remains in a state of deep drowsiness during the dental procedure (which can last up to 4 hours). The sedation is administered and monitored by a doctor throughout the procedure.
General anesthesia – in extreme cases, where even under sedation the patient still becomes agitated, we can indicate the procedure under general anesthesia in a hospital environment.

Clinical History
Our clinical director holds a doctorate in implant dentistry, a master’s degree in prosthodontics, and two specializations in dental implants and prosthodontics. In addition, he has completed several training courses in the field of dentistry, not only in Brazil, but also abroad.
He also actively participates in the sector’s main congresses and fairs, both national and international. He is a member of important institutions in dentistry and related fields, such as the ITI – International Team for Implantology, the ADA – American Dental Association, and the EAO – European Association for Osseointegration.

Scientific History Dr. Roberto Markarian
Dr. Roberto Markarian graduated as a dental surgeon in 2001 from the USP School of Dentistry in São Paulo. While still a student, he carried out research into improving dental materials, particularly in the areas of dentistry, prosthodontics and implantology. As aresult of this work, he received 5 awards in Brazil. He described his results in more than 30 scientific articles, which were later published in international journals.
In the meantime, he has taken postgraduate courses in prosthetics and dental implants and has become a researcher and assistant to the fixed prosthetics team at USP (São Paulo)and at the São Leopoldo Mandic College (Campinas), as well as teaching college students and dentists.
In the area of academic research, Dr. Roberto Markarian has been conducting courses and research in the area of implant dentistry since 1998, and in the area of digital dentistry since 2004. He also gives lectures and training courses on modern digital dentistry tools.

What should I bring to my appointment?
Bring all the X-rays and tests you have so that we can follow the progress of your previous treatments. If you don’t have any tests, we’ll request the ones we deem necessary. Digital panoramic X-rays and CT scans allow us to observe general oral conditions. If you prefer, these tests can be carried out at ImplArt (at a separate cost).
Can I make an appointment and start treatment the same day?
In most cases we can start on the same day, but it’s always best to attend a planning appointment first. We will certainly have to carry out a detailed planning of your case and schedule specific appointments to organize the progress of your treatment.
Is it possible to finish the treatment in a single day?
Only if your treatment is very simple and we have time available. Many dental treatments are complex and, even with all the technology and our own laboratory, it will take a few days to plan and complete the treatment. You will certainly know how long your complete treatment will take once we have analyzed the clinical consultation and your exams.
How many days will my treatment last?
Treatment time will depend on the degree of complexity of your case, the number of teeth involved, the techniques selected and the materials that will be used.
Who will carry out my treatment?
We have a complete team of professionals in all areas of dentistry. In this way, we will assign a specialist to each area in order to carry out the maximum number of procedures in the shortest time, with the highest possible quality.
Can I have my treatment under sedation?
In some cases it is possible to perform intravenous sedation, which can last up to 4 hours. To find out whether you can undergo sedation, you will need a medical assessment.
It can take several weeks or even months to complete some types of treatment. Contact us to find out what can be done in your case.
I live in another state and am planning a trip to São Paulo for dental treatment. How can I get an estimate in advance? In person or by sending some tests (X-rays, photos, etc.)?
We have a structure that allows treatments to be resolved in a shorter time than normal, in line with our Day Clinic philosophy. If you are interested in a more detailed study of your case, it would be very helpful if you could send us a panoramic x-ray and photos of your arch.
We can therefore guarantee that the current procedures are completely painless. Unfortunately, we can’t offer you a quote without first holding a face-to-face consultation and analyzing all your tests. Dental bone grafting is a subject that often generates a lot of doubts and even fear in patients. It is a technique indicated for reconstructing bone structures in the mandible and maxilla when patients have little volume or defects, especially those who wish to place dental implants.
I don’t want dental bone grafting, do I have a choice?
Implants without dental bone graft: are there alternatives?
However, every patient is assessed individually. And today we have new techniques for bone grafting. In fact, for some, the indication of bone grafting is inevitable, while for others, there are alternatives to grafting, such as:
Short implants (little vertical bone volume)
Small diameter pins (little horizontal bone volume)
Roxolid Straumann reinforced titanium implants (smaller and stronger)
Short and narrow grafts can be an alternative to bone grafting techniques
Small bone grafts or micrografts are alternatives to bone grafts
ImplArt Odontologia’s philosophy is to avoid bone grafts as much as possible and has mastered alternative techniques to avoid their use whenever possible. By avoiding dental bone grafting, treatment becomes faster and the patient undergoes fewer surgical steps. However, nowadays bone grafts are small and very restricted to the implant site. In the past, only large grafts were performed.
That’s why the micrograft technique is better and has less pain after surgery. Dental implants without grafting before and after Dr. Roberto Markarian, the clinic’s coordinator, is an experienced dental implant specialist with more than a thousand implants installed, and cases of before and after implants.
Thanks to its extensive clinical and surgical experience, ImplArt has been able to treat countless cases without bone grafts – which may have been indicated by other specialists. The indication of techniques depends on a thorough examination of the patient, as well as their tests, such as CT scans and X-rays.

Todas as informações coletadas pelo computador são enviadas pela internet. Dessa forma, as próteses são produzidas de forma individual por robôs (impressoras 3d de dentes).
