Full Arch Dental Implants – All-on-4 – All-on-6 – All-on-X

Full Arch Dental Implants is a Full Mouth Reconstruction treatment, that can be done in the mandible (lower arch) and maxilla (upper arch), although there are important anatomical differences that interfere with the planning of dental implant surgery. Fixed prostheses on dental implants can be made of Zirconia, Pure Zirconia, Porcelain(metal-ceramic), as well as Resin.

This treatment is also known as Fixed Full-Arch Prosthesis or Implant-Supported Denture. This type of implant treatment for all teeth, allows patients to regain their smile and chew.

Dental implant surgery is currently a fairly straightforward operation, carried out in an office or hospital environment, with hospitalization for the patient’s comfort. Implants make it possible to replace missing teeth even in large areas of the arch, including in patients with all their teeth compromised by periodontal disease.
They can also be used in patients with bone loss, who may need bone grafting before or during the installation of the dental implant.

It is important to note that there are currently different types of dental implants, and the most modern ones, cone morse implants, allow for faster healing.

Full Arch Dental Implants . Implant-Supported Denture step by step

With regard to the end result, the aim is to obtain fixed dental prostheses that will remain supported on the implants. This will allow the patient to regain their masticatory function and aesthetics.

Of course, as Fixed Full-Arch Prosthesis are screwed onto dental implants, the result is a very efficient dental prosthesis for chewing, as well as excellent aesthetics and comfort.

It is therefore a much better solution than a removable prosthesis, as it provides excellent fixation and stability. In the upper arch, the full arch dental implants treatment has the added advantage of completely uncovering the palate (roof of the mouth), which improves patient comfort.

Unlike removable prostheses (dentures), which cover the roof of the mouth to allow them to be fixed and make it difficult to perceive the taste of food, All-on-X prostheses with implants are thin and occupy only the region of the dentition, leaving the rest of the mouth free, similar to the situation found when there are natural teeth. Currently, the most modern materials are the Zirconia Fixed Full-Arch Prosthesis and the Porcelain Prothesis on a Full Arch DentalTreatment.

Full Arch Dental Implants .Examinations and planning

After radiographic examinations and a CT scan of the jaws, the dental implant specialist will be able to analyze the ideal planning for the case and thus indicate bone complements such as grafts to better prepare the bone if necessary.

The jaw bone (lower arch) is more rigid and resistant, so dental implants can be installed in most cases. The upper jaw bone, on the other hand, is less dense and delicate and has a more complex anatomy.

Certainly the proximity to the nose, the maxillary sinus cavities and the greater bone loss require further study.

Full Arch Dental Implants With or Without Bone Graft ?

If bone grafting is necessary, don’t be alarmed – it’s very common. Of course, dental grafting for full archa implants is not necessarily complicated, invasive or large. On the contrary, most of the time the bone graft for a full arch implant is simple, small and restricted to the position of the implant.

Less invasive implant surgery: in our clinic we use current concepts of minimally invasive surgery for dental implants, which make the procedure faster and offer greater comfort during the procedure and especially during the healing phase of the dental implant.

Computer-guided implant surgery: this is a type of dental implant surgery offered at our clinic that is planned by computerized scans of the jaws.

For example, computed tomography, in conjunction with a digital mold of the arch (scanner), generates guides for the quick and safe positioning of implants. Click here to learn more about guided surgery for total implants.

Full Mouth Reconstruction Prosthesis and other types

Certainly the most common prosthesis for implanting all the teeth in a full arch is the so-called protocol prosthesis. This is a resin prosthesis with a metal reinforcement bar inside.

Over time, however, more modern ways of making complete implant prosthesis have emerged. At the ImplArt Dental Clinic, we offer more technological implant materials, which are completely made on our premises and in our own dental prosthesis laboratory (see more):

If you have any questions, please make an appointment or contact us and make an appointment with our clinical director, Dr. Roberto Markarian, an implant dentist. We will be happy to assist you. Zirconia prosthesis for dental implants

The zirconia prosthesis is a white ceramic used to make the internal structure of a dental implant prosthesis. It is currently considered the most aesthetic material for this purpose, as its shade is very similar to natural dentin and it also allows more light to pass through (translucency).

Zirconia provides a metal-free crown with high strength and aesthetics

A crown with a zirconia structure is an aesthetic alternative to a metal structure (metal-free crown). Although very resistant, the metal structure can leave the crown looking darkened when exposed to light.

In addition, if the patient has remodeling of the gums over time, a grayish line can appear at the gingival level and cause aesthetic compromise in the smile. For this reason, metal frameworks are often recommended for posterior crowns (which require a lot of strength, but not much aesthetics).

Meanwhile, the zirconia structure can be especially suitable for the anterior region, the most visible part of the arch where aesthetic requirements are greatest. The process of making a zirconia crown is computerized using Cad/Cam systems.

When you lose a tooth, you can have a zirconia implant placed, which is a piece of white ceramic that sits in place of the tooth root. After healing, you can place a zirconia prosthesis, which is a ceramic cap that sits on top of the implant and looks like a real tooth. This combination has some benefits, such as

  • Beauty: zirconia is as white as teeth and doesn’t turn the gums gray like metal. What’s more, zirconia is transparent and shines like teeth, making your smile look more beautiful and natural.
  • Health: zirconia is a material that adapts well to bone and gums without causing allergies or inflammation. This helps with the healing and firmness of the implant.
  • Resistance: zirconia is a very strong material that can withstand the forces of chewing and does not wear out easily. This makes the implant and prosthesis last longer.

Therefore, the zirconia implant together with the zirconia prosthesis is a good option to recover the function and beauty of lost teeth, with a safe, comfortable and durable material.

The computer-designed zirconia prosthesis

Initially, the teeth are scanned using intraoral scanners to generate a 3D digital mold. The design of the crown is made on a computer and executed on 3D tooth printers.

Finally, the crown receives a layer of porcelain that makes it look very similar to a natural tooth and can be fixed onto the dental implant. Among the indications for zirconia crowns on implants are single crowns, bridges and complete fixed prostheses.

The main advantages of a zirconia prosthesis are:

  • High aesthetics
  • Resistance
  • Natural result
  • The fixed implant prosthesis is safer and more comfortable, and does not have the mobility of a mobile prosthesis
  • Improves smile aesthetics and self-esteem
  • Improves chewing and speech
  • Does not stain as it can with resin prostheses

Pure porcelain Emax crown for highly aesthetic implants

Contemporary dentistry continually seeks solutions that combine the highest functional performance with unparalleled aesthetics, especially in dental implant rehabilitations. In this context, Pure Emax crowns emerge as the material of choice for cases demanding maximum naturalness and seamless integration with the patient’s smile.

Unlike other materials, Pure Emax, a type of lithium disilicate, offers a translucency and opalescence that perfectly mimic natural tooth structure, making it the ideal choice for crowns over implants in highly aesthetic areas. It’s important to highlight that these cutting-edge solutions are crafted in Brazil, reflecting our Clinic’s commitment to excellence in dental technology and artistry. Discover how this advanced technology, with its roots in Brazil, is revolutionizing dentistry, providing results that exceed expectations and restore confidence and beauty to smiles.

The digital all-porcelain crown is a highly efficient ceramic system used to make prosthetic crowns for dental implants.

What are digital pure porcelain crowns made of?

Lithium disilicate ceramics have aesthetic and resistance properties comparable to natural teeth. They are the best and most technologically advanced materials for achieving aesthetic teeth because they are white and translucent, which makes the crown look natural even in the brightest of environments.

e.max ceramic was developed for use in Digital Dentistry Systems, with a 3D printer that sculpts dental prostheses. With this system, the all-porcelain crown can be made quickly, with more strength and naturalness than other materials made by hand.

What is the best material for pure porcelain digital prostheses?

The digital porcelain crown is made as a monoblock, i.e. it has no internal reinforcement layers, as the computer will create the crown from a prefabricated block of dental porcelain.

The Pura Digital porcelain crown is an evolution in the materials used in dental prostheses. With it, it is possible to reproduce details that make the prosthesis similar to natural teeth. With the Cerec System, the e.max crown is made more quickly and precisely, because it is designed on a computer and sculpted by robots.

The main advantages of modern porcelain crowns:

  • High resistance todental fracture and durability;
  • Very aesthetic look, comparable to a natural tooth;
  • Range of blocks with different colors and types of resistance for different uses;
  • Stain-resistant material;
  • It can be made using the Metal Free technique (no metal in the internal structure). This makes the crown look translucent and much more aesthetic in bright environments.
  • It can be designed and built quickly thanks to the Cerec system.

To make digitalpure porcelain crowns , we use CAD/CAM techniques:

1 – Intraoral scanner: It all starts with the digital molding of the dental implant with a high-precision color camera that takes images of the oral interior and sends them to the computer.

2 – Computer and software: receives the information captured by the intraoral scanner and carries out the simulation and personalized planning of the dental crown using three-dimensional images.

3 – Machine manufacturing: robots mill the e.max ceramic block based on the computerized design until the shape of the crown is achieved. The result is certainly a piece that is strictly compatible with the patient’s needs.

full arch dental implants
Pure porcelain crown for natural teeth

It is common for a temporary crown to be made before finalizing the permanent tooth to test whether the computer modeling is correct. Immediately after milling, the piece undergoes a crystallization process at approximately 850°C for 20 to 30 minutes and acquires high resistance, shade and translucency.

When the crown is finished, it is attached to the previously installed dental implant. For your convenience, the Cerec System and e.max ceramics are available at ImplArt Dental Clinic in Brazil. As an alternative to the pure porcelain crown, we now have an even more resistant material, translucent pure zirconia.

If you have any questions about this or other techniques and prices, please make an appointment or contact us. We are located in the Paulista Avenue area/Downtown of São Paulo. We will be happy to assist you.

Cerec 3D – Emax Cad crowns

Emax Cad crowns are prostheses used in oral rehabilitation and dental restoration to cover, protect and strengthen teeth that have been extensively damaged by decay or root canal treatment.

Ceramic crowns in Emax Cad

Developed by the German company Ivoclar, the technical name of the Emax material is lithium disilicate and it has the ability to offer high aesthetics and high resistance.

Dissilicate porcelain is classified as a glass porcelain, or glass-ceramic, with diverse applications for dental prostheses on teeth and implants, contact lenses, porcelain blocks, individual crowns on structure. In other words, these are applications for single teeth or up to 3 teeth. For larger dental prostheses, we use other types of dental porcelain, such as translucent dental zirconia.

EMAX crown applications

Dental crowns can also be placed on dental implants to replace missing teeth. They can be made from different materials such as temporary resins, but the main one is Emax Cad ceramic. What are the main advantages of the Emax Cad crown?

  • High resistance and durability;
  • Very aesthetic look, similar to a natural tooth;
  • Range of blocks with different colors and types of resistance for different uses;
  • Minimally invasive restorations;
  • It can be made using the metal-free technique (no metal in the internal structure). This makes the crown look translucent and much more aesthetic in bright environments.
emax crowns
The digital emax crown is milled by robotic machines in the blue phase, when the material is still soft. The material is then crystallized at over 700 degrees to achieve the final color. On the right, it has received the final polish that guarantees the smoothness of the structure and final pigmentation (even in black light environments).

Emax porcelain crowns in digital dentistry – how are they made?

ImplArt Odontologia is equipped with the modern Cerec 3D system with CAD/CAM technology, which simulates and digitally plans the treatment right through to making the Emax Cad ceramic crowns. The system is complete and consists of three units:

When the milling is complete, the piece undergoes a sintering process at approximately 850°C and acquires high strength, shade and translucency. The CEREC 3D system certainly speeds up treatment, even allowing it to be carried out and finalized in Day Clinic planning.

With it, it is possible to make crowns and restorations that are very precise and customized to the needs of each case. Contact us and make an appointment to find out if your case could benefit from this technique.

We’ll be happy to solve your problem in our specialized clinic. We also offer translucent zirconia crowns, a new type of dental porcelain that is even more resistant than Emax.

Dental implants – Frequently asked questions

Find out the most frequently asked questions about prostheses on implants

Are implants aesthetically pleasing?

In short, it depends a lot on the system used and the local conditions. Aesthetics have improved a lot in recent years. But it’s important to bear in mind that, however good the implant and the professional, the first is still a prosthesis on an implant, i.e. the replacement of natural teeth with artificial ones.

Therefore, expectations regarding implants are common, but can usually be followed by a certain amount of frustration. In many cases, the aesthetic solution is quite acceptable. Fortunately, there have been many advances, not only in the materials used to make prostheses, but also in techniques.

Nowadays we can build prostheses that look more and more like natural teeth. However, the main objective must always be functional. The implant is far superior to other prosthetic procedures, and in the absence of teeth, it’s the best we can do.

Dental implant prosthesis: some of ImplArt’s work

How long will I be out of implant prostheses?

In simpler cases, some kind of temporary implant prosthesis is provided for the patient to use immediately after surgery. In the case of the totally edentulous, the period is limited to a few hours to a few days after the first surgery. In the second stage, once the implants have healed, the patient is not left without the prosthesis. In some cases, the immediate loading technique can be used.

Can I eat anything after the prostheses have been fitted? What if I fracture a tooth in the implant-supported prosthesis, is the implant lost?

Not everything can be eaten, but the restrictions are not too severe. Certain foods can even fracture natural teeth. In short, a diet with a minimum of care is sufficient to preserve the teeth of implant-supported prostheses. One positive fact is that repairing fractured teeth is relatively easy.

What happens if the implant (post) becomes mobile after the prosthesis (tooth) has been placed?

All mobility is progressive and indicates that the implant has been lost. Each case is assessed individually and, in principle, the implant can almost always be replaced. This event brings frustration not only for the patient, but also for the dentist. In fact, what happens is an increase in treatment time and, above all, the need to be patient in order to complete it.

I have a full upper prosthesis. I would like to know about the possibility of placing an overdenture without a palate. How many implants? What are the costs?

The overdenture without a palate is a good option because it makes the wearer feel more comfortable. To do this, at least four implants need to be placed. Another option is a fixed prosthesis on implants. This would require four to six implants.

The cost of this type of treatment is variable and it depends on tests to predict the availability of bone in the area. In other words, prices can only be given after a face-to-face consultation and an assessment of the particularities of each case.

I would like to know about the possibility of replacing two removable prostheses with staples with fixed prostheses without staples or implants. I would also like to eliminate the visualization of the staples in my smile.

A treatment like this appears to be of little complexity and can be completed in a short time, according to our Day Clinic philosophy. We always suggest that you also have your teeth whitened to make your whole smile whiter and more aesthetically pleasing.

I have two fixed bridges (one on each side) on the top and I have two implants started (the pins have been placed). I’d like to complete the implants and replace all my teeth with nice white ones, because mine are yellow and the bridges are old with the metal showing. I would also like to know how many days it would take to do a treatment.

A treatment like this is considered to be of minor complexity and can be completed in between 10 and 15 days, according to our Day Clinic and Dental Spa philosophy. The colors of the teeth will be chosen jointly between the dental team and the patient. We always suggest that teeth whitening is also carried out so that the whole smile becomes whiter and more aesthetically pleasing.

I wear lower and upper dentures. Can I get my teeth back? Can you provide information on costs?

Nowadays it is possible to restore teeth even for people who have been wearing dentures for many years. There are many alternatives, especially dental implants. To get an estimate on the price of dental implants, you’ll need a face-to-face consultation and more detailed examinations, which can easily be carried out at our clinic.

replace dentures with fixed dentures on dental implants
Example of replacing a denture with a fixed zirconia prosthesis on implants

Should I go back to the dentist after having my teeth fitted?

At least one clinical radiographic check-up is required every year. It is also the patient’s obligation to attend these check-ups. Appointments are important to identify any problems in time for them to be reversed. They are also used to carry out professional cleaning of the prosthesis, to assess whether the user is performing daily oral hygiene properly, among other aspects that only a professional dentist can identify.

Will chewing ability improve after implants?

Above all, implants have much better functional results than dentures and removable prostheses. Patients who have been wearing dentures for a long time and have implants fitted feel the difference is very significant. The fixed implant prosthesis does not move and the patient certainly feels more comfortable and secure when chewing, speaking and smiling.

I’ve heard that porcelain is the best material for teeth. If I want an implant-supported prosthesis with porcelain teeth, would that be possible?

In most cases it is possible to make a prosthesis on an implant with porcelain teeth. Porcelain teeth are undoubtedly the best material for making a dental prosthesis. Today there are porcelain teeth with or without internal metal that offer different aesthetic results, with metal-free porcelain being more aesthetic than prostheses containing metal.

Dental contact lenses – Day Clinic

The application of dental contact lenses is a modern technique that primarily serves to correct aesthetic problems in the teeth, making them more beautiful and uniform. This is one of the dental aesthetic procedures that the ImplArt dental clinic can carry out with more agility in Day Clinic service for patients who come from other states or even abroad.

What are dental contact lenses?

Dental contact lenses are very thin sheets of porcelain (only 0.2 mm thick) used to correct certain aesthetic problems with the teeth, such as stains, chips, exaggerated gaps between teeth (diastemas), very short teeth, asymmetrical teeth, among others.Dental contact lenses are therefore custom-designed on a computer and manufactured on 3D printers. They are made from computerized Emax porcelain, which is why they can be called Porcelain Lenses.

Porcelain is a biosecure material with visual characteristics very similar to natural teeth. Ultra-thin dental contact lenses are different from ordinary veneers, as they require less or no wear on the teeth to be applied. Other advantages of contact lenses at Day Clinic:

  • Completely painless procedure
  • Possibility of changing the shape, size and color of teeth
  • Preserves tooth structure
  • The lenses do not cause any discomfort to the chewing function
  • Long durability
  • There is no color change in porcelain over the years
  • Incredibly natural and harmonious result
  • Computerized planning allows for more precise, personalized and faster treatment.
full arch dental implants

How are dental contact lenses applied at the Day Clinic?

  • 1 – ImplArt’s specialized professional takes a digital mold of the teeth using intraoral scanners.
  • 2 – The result is then digitally simulated using software so that it can be presented to and approved by the patient;
  • 3 – The approved model is then sent to the laboratory to have the ultra-thin, highly durable porcelain dental contact lens made. The lens is made using 3D printers, which guarantee the quality of the work;
  • 4 – The dentist glues the dental contact lens with specific adhesive material to the front of the previously prepared tooth.

The Day Clinic service is a great option for people who want or need to solve aesthetic problems with their teeth in just a few days, such as during a quick trip to São Paulo or due to the proximity of an important event.

In less complex cases, the ImplArt dental clinic applies dental contact lenses with all the convenience of Day Clinic planning. Normally, this whole process takes between 7 and 30 days, but with ImplArt’s Day Clinic planning, this time can be reduced. The application of this technique, as well as the shortened time frame, depends on a clinical analysis to verify feasibility and ensure a good indication.

Make an appointment to see if you could benefit from this technique or if you have any questions, please contact us.

“I’ve been a patient of the ImplArt clinic for a few years, when I met Dr. Roberto Markarian. At the assessment appointment, he explained the treatment very clearly. I was someone who had a lot of trauma and fear of dentists, I couldn’t smile and I was very embarrassed.

I just have to say thank you for getting to know this clinic, which took very good care of me, excellent professionals, I was always attended to promptly throughout my treatment. Today I can smile. Congratulations to Clinica ImplArt and Dr. Roberto Markarian, and I can’t forget to mention Vivian, who has always been very attentive. How good it is to be able to count on professionals like you.”

My treatment was carried out by Dr. Adriana, who is highly professional and attentive! I’m very happy with the result, it looks great and I get nothing but compliments.”

Solange Godoy

“I was very afraid of getting implants, but Dr. Roberto gave me so much reassurance that I had no doubts. I had the implants, I didn’t feel a thing and I didn’t have any problems. I was very pleased with the results, it even changed my self-esteem with the excellent work done. Dr. Brenda was an excellent professional, always attentive and explaining all the treatment procedures. A reliable team. The service was exceptional. I highly recommend it.”

Dulceni Paglione

“ImplArt has changed my life. It changed the way I smile and interact with people. I now have much more confidence in myself, my self-esteem has grown. I thank them for all their care and I say to anyone who is going to start treatment: you can trust them, because they are serious and their work is very good.”

Eliana Fagundes

“First world dental clinic, the tooth scanner only exists at Implart, I was impressed with the perfect result. Dr. Roberto is highly competent and gives us all the security we need when deciding to have an implant or more complicated surgery on our teeth. The team is top 10. I had my treatment with Dr. Roberto and his team and I highly recommend them.”

Valerie Hair

“I recently finished my treatment. I had Swiss implants and a porcelain prosthesis. I would like to praise the work of Dr. Roberto and all the qualified professionals in his team. These people work seriously and responsibly.”

Sebastião Melo

“Now that I’ve completed the full upper arch implant procedure I started about four months ago, I’m here to give my testimony to help anyone who needs treatment and has doubts about where to get it. I went through a real via crucis to get to Dr. Roberto’s clinic, because if you don’t have a referral, searching on the internet gives the impression that all dental surgeons are good, which is a total mistake.

Mentions like “graduated from such and such university” don’t mean much. Many don’t have the qualifications or equipment for more complex surgeries. Before arriving at Dr. Roberto’s clinic, I went to several that I thought were specialists, and I was frightened by the procedures suggested for my case. But as I’m very fearful, I didn’t agree to be treated at such clinics.

I continued researching and came across Dr. Roberto, who gave me a totally different solution from those who had gone before him, and so I began treatment. It was a blessing for me because I didn’t have to undergo surgery in a hospital under full anesthesia. It was easy, painless and I recovered quickly. “

Hideki Oshiro

“I found Implart through a Google search. I was looking for a clinic in São Paulo that would serve me with quality and speed, as I live in Miami. I wanted zirconia treatment, as is done here, and I found what I wanted at Implart. A committed team, a director with credibility and knowledge. I was very happy with my choice and came back very happy.”

Rafaela Nunes

“Having completed the first stage of my treatment, I’m taking the initiative to express my satisfaction with Implart. When I read the contract, I liked it. Objective, clear and transparent. Extremely professional. The clinic is well-kept, cozy, no-frills and very well equipped. I was able to see for myself that the materials used in my treatment were top quality. Very fine needles for anesthesia.This means that we feel almost nothing from the sting (of course, in this case, the professional’s hand is fundamental).

Anesthetics that left me wondering whether I was anesthetized or not, because the effect was so subtle. Powerful, though. Just as you hardly notice when the anesthetic wears off. There are no abrupt sensations. The restoration of a tooth that came in the way was carried out perfectly. The temporary prosthesis was very good. It fitted very well and the aesthetics were excellent. Very natural and very close to my original teeth.I love it!

Then the surgery! The next day it seemed like I hadn’t even undergone it, how comfortable I was. All of the above is very important, but for me the most important thing is Implart’s team of professionals. What really struck me was that everyone I spoke to was discreet, spontaneous, affectionate and welcoming. Dr. Roberto, congratulations on your clinic.And in my humble opinion I think it’s a model clinic.

If one day a dental student is able to do an internship at Implart, it would be a privilege. Believe me, everything I’m saying is the observation of a 60-year-old who has worked with a variety of professionals, from very good to very bad (all in private practice). I love being seen in a dental clinic. It’s more complete, modern and efficient.”

Setsuko Katayama, São Paulo-SP

“I’m very anxious about going to the dentist and I’ve always avoided it as much as possible. Now it’s been five years without treating my teeth, so I ended up losing some dentures, had a lot of cavities and an episode of pain. Then I came across the IMPLART clinic and this sedation technique. It was very easy to have the treatment this way. The doctor who saw me was very attentive and looked after me until the end of the procedure. I also found that the dentist worked quickly and did some implants and treated the cavities while I was asleep. It was a bit magical but when I woke up everything was ready, I thought it was great.”

M.R.R., businesswoman, São Paulo-SP

“It’s very easy for me to write in the form of testimonials about the dental implants I had for two years with Dr. Roberto from the ImplArt Clinic, because what seemed impossible at first, through Dr. Roberto’s skillful hands, became concrete every day.When I arrived at the office for a consultation more than two years ago, I had periodontal disease that had already compromised most of my teeth, both upper and lower. After the consultation, Dr. Roberto informed me that it was a difficult case, but not impossible to treat, and his suggestion was to implant both upper and lower teeth.

In a very didactic way, he explained the treatment step by step, showing me that one of the main elements in the whole stage would be patience and that’s what I had during the long process of surgeries and tests, but my calm, patience was due a lot to the confidence that Dr. Roberto gave me, his security, his intelligence, his education and affection were essential for me to go through this trajectory very calmly and sure that I would ultimately achieve my KOLYNOS smile, which can be COLGATE, SMILE.”

Cida Santos, University Professor, São Paulo – SP

“I was recently in São Paulo because I travel frequently for work. Due to the sudden need for emergency treatment, I came across the ImplArt Clinic, which promptly solved my problem. My time in the city, about a week, was enough for a definitive treatment to be completed. I was very pleased with the speed of treatment and the quality. I recommend it!”

Albert Cardoso, Fortaleza – CE

“As I have known Dr. Roberto for some time, I let him know in advance that I was coming to São Paulo, as I visit my family periodically. Dr. Roberto asked me to send him some tests in advance, which I promptly did by email. I was impressed by how useful technology can be even for dental treatment. I prefer the service in Brazil, as the dentists here are very cold and the prices are much higher.”

Regina Abreu, London – England

“I remember one Friday when I was performing at the Sala São Paulo, a jacket that was right in front of me broke. I called Dr. Markarian, made an appointment, he examined me and said that if I waited for surgery to finish, he would put an implant in. The result: I had the implant, left the office, came home, got ready and went to the repair, driving normally.

I arrived after midnight enraptured by the music and without remembering that I’d had an implant. I know a lot of people who have implants, get sick, have inflammation, get down, stop exercising. Thanks to the doctor’s safety, competence and in-depth knowledge, I never had any problems and everything went smoothly. That’s why I say that I was even sad, regretting the end of the treatment. A big hug to all of you and much success to the Clinic, especially to Dr. Roberto.”

Sueli Nakamura – lawyer – São Paulo – SP

Pure zirconia dental crowns – the strongest material for crowns

Zirconia crowns are dental prostheses indicated for restoration and dental rehabilitation in people who have had damage to one or more teeth. Rehabilitation with dental crowns aims to restore the aesthetics and functionality of the smile, improving not only chewing, the appearance of the teeth, but also self-esteem.

Zirconia crowns: excellence for aesthetic results

However, some materials used to make dental crowns are not strong enough to be used in patients suffering from bruxism. As is well known, bruxism is a disorder of oral function movements, characterized mainly by involuntary grinding or clenching of the teeth.

Pure zirconia crowns. Translucent zirconia is 10 times stronger than ordinary porcelain.

It occurs mainly during sleep. This excessive load on the teeth and musculoskeletal structures of the face can cause problems with the teeth and correct occlusion in general.

Although the cause of bruxism is not very clear, it is certain that this condition most often affects people who suffer from emotional problems, such as stress, anxiety and excessive worry.

Just as the excessive force generated by bruxism can wear down teeth, it can also damage dentures made of certain materials.

In these cases, our team has the option of recommending porcelain crowns with a pure zirconia internal structure, which are proven to be more resistant and can withstand a greater load, even in patients with bruxism.

Zirconia acquires this strength because it goes through a controlled process called sintering, which is heating it at a high temperature in a special furnace. This process modifies its particles, creating a solid and very strong prosthetic piece. Other properties of crowns with a pure zirconia structure:

How do I know if I can have a crown with pure zirconia even if I have bruxism?

First of all, it’s important to assess the degree of oral impairment that bruxism has caused so far. If you have untreated bruxism for many years, there may be advanced wear of the dental crowns and/or root fractures.

Therefore, before receiving prosthetic crowns to rehabilitate and restore your smile, you will probably need to undergo treatment to correct these defects (e.g. root canal treatments, vertical dimension increase, clinical crown increase). Dr. Markarian, our general manager, saysthat controlling bruxism is essential to avoid future problems and porcelain crowns with a pure zirconia structure may be indicated.

ImplArt Odontologia has its own dental laboratory with the Cerec 3D, Cerec Primemill, Trios 3Shape and Ceramill systems, which speed up the fabrication of crowns with pure zirconia and metal-free ceramics, in some cases even in just a few hours in an ImplArt Day Clinic or Dental Spa, where you can carry out the largest number of dental procedures in just one appointment or in just a few days. This way, patients can set aside a day in their schedule or a few days in a week to dedicate to dental treatment, without it taking months to complete.
