Aesthetic Dental Treatments

Dentistry or aesthetic dentistry is the area of dentistry that works to restore dental aesthetics. In short, the resources available to improve the aesthetics of the smile include tooth whitening, dental crowns, resin or porcelain restorations, gum surgery (gingivectomy), and the application of modern dental contact lenses.

A more beautiful, white and harmonious smile is possible thanks to dental contact lenses and other aesthetic resources

Or even after wearing braces, when you want to improve some aspects of your smile, because during treatment you can’t change the aesthetics of your teeth. Modern dental contact lenses are ultra-thin porcelain veneers, suitable for correcting aesthetic problems with the teeth, for example:

Dental contact lenses are bonded to the surface of one or more defective teeth in a safe and non-invasive way. Because the lenses are ultra-thin, installation requires little or no wear on the teeth before they can be bonded.

Naturalness of dental contact lenses

The lenses are made from porcelain, the best bio-safe material used to make dental prostheses, which is similar to natural teeth in terms of its texture and shade, as well as its translucency.

This way, if the dental contact lens is applied to just one defective tooth, it won’t contrast with the neighboring natural teeth. It is certainly an aesthetic procedure that has come to completely change your smile for the better. At ImplArt, the lenses are designed and made by better computerized systems and 3D printers.

In conclusion, the last stage of the procedure is the preparation of the tooth, the application of dental cement and the bonding of the dental contact lens. Dental contact lenses are very durable, as long as the patient takes care not to bite down on hard objects and makes regular visits to the dental practice. Alternatively, veneers can be made from resin with a lower finish.

Porcelain dental crowns for aesthetic purposes

Dental crowns and porcelain blocks can be made in cases of tooth damage such as broken teeth. It is very common for patients with bruxism to need cosmetic treatments as they can lose part of their enamel or even entire teeth due to the force applied to their teeth.

Aesthetic restorations

An aesthetic composite resin restoration is a dental aesthetic procedure in which a resin composite material is used to repair or rebuild the structure of an aesthetically compromised tooth.

This technique is often used to correct cavities, fractures or discolorations in order to restore the shape, function and natural appearance of teeth.

During the process, the dentist removes the damaged part of the tooth, prepares the affected area and applies layers of composite resin, carefully shaping them to ensure a perfect fit with the dental anatomy.

The resin is then hardened with special ultraviolet light.

The advantage of composite resin lies in its ability to mimic the color and texture of adjacent teeth, providing an aesthetic and long-lasting end result while preserving the structural integrity of the restored tooth.

Porcelain veneers for a beautiful and attractive smile

To improve the appearance of the teeth and correct any damage they have suffered, patients have at their disposal porcelain veneers or dental contact lenses, which are thin porcelain Veneers, customized for the patient and bonded to the front of the front teeth. They are able to change the aesthetics of the smile.

With this procedure, your smile can look more beautiful and your self-esteem can also benefit. Porcelain veneers can solve a variety of aesthetic problems in the teeth, such as stains and discoloration, chips, enamel wear, small fractures, closing gaps between teeth (diastheme), enlarging small teeth, changing the shape of teeth, among others.

What is the difference between a contact lens and a veneer?

Basically, the differences between dental lenses and veneers are their thickness, the material used and the preparation technique.

Porcelain veneers

In the porcelain veneer technique, the dentist needs to:

  • Wear away a LARGER amount of the tooth enamel (approximately 1mm).
  • SILICONE molds and impression trays are made. While the permanent veneers are being prepared, the patient wears the temporary veneers.
  • The material used is generally common feldspathic porcelain, made using a handmade technique (more fragile).

The purpose of wearing down the teeth is to make room for the porcelain veneer and increase its thickness. Without wear, the teeth would be overcontoured, or have too much volume. In addition, the porcelain veneer might not fit so perfectly on the tooth.

In the contact lens technique, the dentist needs to:

  • Wear away a LESSER amount of the tooth enamel (approximately 0.3mm).
  • Molds are made with an INTRA ORAL SCANNER. While the permanent veneers are being prepared, the patient wears temporary lenses or a mockup. Sometimes it is not necessary to use temporary lenses because the wear does not affect the aesthetics.
  • The material used is generally porcelain MADE ON A COMPUTERIZED MILL (more resistant and precise).

Like any restoration, porcelain veneers need to be properly cared for and periodically reassessed. Patients should also maintain the hygiene of the tooth surfaces. We now also make ultra-thin porcelain veneers, which are dental contact lenses. The application of dental lenses requires little or no wear to the tooth structure. Find out more by clicking here.

Straumann Implants – the No. 1 Reference in Implant Dentistry

Based in Basel, Switzerland, Straumann Implants is a world leader in implant dentistry and oral tissue regeneration. It offers innovative, fast-healing implant options, such as Slactive, which heals in 1 month. Or even ceramic implants, the only ones without metal in their composition.

Therefore, as well as offering safe dental implants, there are also some Straumann implant models with special purposes, such as those that avoid bone grafts, because they are narrower or shorter. Or those made of special materials that prevent allergies, such as zirconia implants.

It is this range of solutions, combined with extensive clinical and laboratory testing prior to launch, that makes Straumann implants the best option for patients who want to receive the best!

Straumann Swiss implants are considered the best dental implants in the world

In collaboration with leading clinics, research institutes and universities around the world, Straumann has been researching and developing dental implants, surgical instruments, prosthetic components and biomaterials for oral tissue regeneration since 1974.

Straumann’s products and services are available in more than 70 countries. This standard of excellence certainly allows dentists to offer their patients less traumatic, less invasive treatments with predictable long-term results, not only aesthetic but also functional.

Straumann implants are manufactured with three basic requirements: reliability, simplicity and versatility. The brand has an extensive range of implants with different sizes, diameters, angulation, material composition and surface technologies.

This considerably increases the chances of rehabilitation in various situations.

The decision on which implant is best for your case will be made between you and your ImplArt dentist. The advantages and disadvantages of each implant system will be presented.

After analyzing the available options, the dentist will recommend the most suitable dental implant for your specific case. In addition, during the initial consultation, the details of the procedure will be discussed, including recovery time and the necessary post-operative care.

It is important to note that choosing the right dental implant is essential to guarantee a satisfactory long-term result. Each patient has unique characteristics, such as the amount of bone available and general oral health, which will be taken into account to determine the best implant option.

Straumann Implants are faster to heal

After the implant has been placed, it will be necessary to wait for a period of healing and integration with the bone before proceeding with the placement of the crown. This waiting time can vary according to individual circumstances and is usually around three to six months.

However, in some cases, it is possible to carry out the dental implant and crown placement procedure in a shorter period of time, such as one month. This accelerated method is known as immediate loading and allows the patient to obtain a complete smile in a reduced time.

Therefore, when considering a dental implant and crown, it is essential to seek out a specialized and experienced dentist who can advise on the best options available and provide a customized treatment to meet your individual needs.

If you have any questions, please contact us! The ImplArt dental clinic relies on all this technology to provide treatment for its patients. We are one of Straumann Implants’ largest clients in Brazil and have been accredited to use Straumann implants since 2002.

Dr. Roberto Markarian, implant dentist and scientific coordinator of ImplArt Clinic in Brazil, is also a member of the ITI – International Team for Implantology, an entity linked to Straumann Implants that brings together the world’s best specialists for the development of new products and techniques related to dental implants.

Tooth replacement in 1 month with rapid implants and DayClinic

Rapid tooth replacement with dental implants

It is possible to replace a tooth by installing a dental implant with a CAD/CAM-designed crown within 1 month, in selected cases. This is possible because the ImplArt Dental Clinic works with Straumann Slactive implants. They have surface technology that favors and accelerates healing and the biological interaction between implants and bone (osseointegration).

A case of root fracture, for example, would require a dental implant as soon as possible, along with extraction. Successful osseointegration is what guarantees the stability of the implant to support the prosthesis and the masticatory load over the years. With normal implants, osseointegration usually occurs between 6 and 8 months. With Straumann Slactive implants, this time can be reduced to 3 to 4 weeks.

Will I lose a tooth during implant healing?

During this healing period, the patient wears a temporary prosthesis so as not to be left without a tooth. In the meantime, our prosthetics laboratory carries out the digital CAD/CAM design and manufacture of the definitive prosthesis using 3D printers. The design begins with a digital mold that is taken using an intraoral scanner, an intraoral camera that captures precise images of the patient’s mouth.

tooth replacement with dental implant and CAD/CAM crown

From these three-dimensional images, it is possible to design a prosthesis with the perfect fit and shape for tooth replacement. The prosthesis is made using a 3D printer. It can be made of porcelain, a very resistant, aesthetic material comparable to natural human teeth, and with a metal or zirconia internal structure.

Some people prefer to come twice to our clinic in a stage protocol for Implants instead of coming only once. This happens because if you stay for the full length of the treatment, you need to stay at least one month in Brazil but instead, if you choose a stage treatment you can come normally for one week and go back home. Then, after a few months, when you have availability, you can come again for another week and finish your work.

Find out more about our digital prosthetics laboratory.

It is worth noting that the possibility of tooth replacement with implant installation, gum grafting or bone grafting, with the definitive prosthesis in just 1 month, is only possible in selected cases.

An assessment by our specialized team will determine this possibility taking into account certain characteristics, such as bone volume and general state of health (in general, as well as of the teeth and gums).

The patient’s age can also influence the planning of dental implants. The rapid installation of a dental implant with a permanent crown for tooth replacement restores chewing ability, smile aesthetics and confidence in speaking and smiling.

Alternatives to dental implants for tooth replacement

As an alternative to implants, we can use dental prostheses in some cases. Adhesive dentures are a way of replacing a missing tooth. The main feature of this prosthesis is that it is attached to neighboring teeth using metal fins and dental adhesive.

If you have any questions about tooth replacement with dental implants, treatments for bruxism or average prices, please make an appointment or contact us. We’ll be happy to help you.

Odontophobia – The fear of the dentist can ruin your life

Odontophobia is a term that defines a person who is afraid of the dentist, i.e. the patient may experience symptoms ranging from mild anxiety to panic, dizziness and fainting. Other patients experience nausea or motion sickness during dental treatment.

It is important for patients to know that the ImplArt Clinic team provides humanized care, in other words, respecting the limits of each patient, so that they can feel welcome. This applies to simple procedures such as prophylaxis and restorations, root canal treatment and even surgical procedures such as bone grafting or dental implants.

The dentist for phobics can help you take care of your oral health

This condition often leads to people neglecting their oral health and putting off important care at an early stage.

This leads to problems such as cavities, plaque buildup, gingivitis, periodontal disease, root canal problems, fractures, dental malocclusion, tooth mobility and dental aesthetics, among others. Many of these problems, if not treated in time, can lead to tooth loss.

We at ImplArt Odontologia understand that this is a serious issue. We know that many patients who seek dental care carry expectations and anxieties, and some even have bad previous experiences.

That’s why we strive to provide patients with a calm and transparent service, especially those with odontophobia.

Sedation procedure helps with odontophobia

In moderate cases of odontophobia, dental procedures can be carried out under intravenous sedation, in which the patient remains in a state of deep drowsiness throughout the procedure.

Sedation is completely safe, as it is carried out by a specialist doctor who first interviews the patient and requests complementary tests (if appropriate), and monitors the patient’s functions while all the dental procedures take place.

When all the procedures are finished, the doctor stops the sedation and the patient wakes up instantly without any difficulty. In extreme cases of odontophobia, dental procedures may be performed under general anesthesia in a hospital setting.

The ImplArt Clinic performs implants at the Oswaldo Cruz Hospital in São Paulo.

Day Clinic (Dental Spa)

ImplArt Odontologia was a pioneer in designing the Dental Day Clinic in Brazil. This is a model of care in which one or more dental procedures are carried out intensively, in the shortest possible time.

The Day Clinic is one of the ways to bring comfort and confidence to patients with odontophobia, because they spend less time in the office and don’t stop taking care of their oral health and smile. Find out more about the ImplArt Day Clinic.

If you have any further questions or would like to give your testimony, please contact us. ImplArt can help you whether you’re looking for a dentist for people with fear in sp or a dentist for people with phobia in sp.

Please note: we do not treat children or special patients.

Immediate loading – Indications and planning

The topic of implants with immediate loading has always been very present when it comes to dental implants. The term is related to pressure, i.e. loading on the newly installed implant, therefore immediately after surgery. It is important to note that the decision on whether or not to perform immediate loading on the implant should be made by the implant dentist. Assuming that this is the main desire of all patients, it is the implant dentist who must certainly assess the conditions conducive to the use of this technique.

Currently, implant surgery is studied beforehand by the implant dentist (dental implant specialist) through the patient’s panoramic X-ray and CT scan. It is therefore possible to assess whether the patient has favorable bone conditions for the use of this technique. However, it is at the time of implant surgery, by locking the implant, that it is possible to guarantee that the immediate loading technique can be carried out. In this way, the professional can also change the technique used to make the prosthesis if the necessary implants are not locked during surgery. Although the bone structure is studied beforehand through examinations, it is only during surgery that the real bone situation can be gauged.

How is immediate loading surgery with dental implants performed?

Surgery is performed to install dental implants in the jawbone. The surgery should take place like a conventional dental implant surgery. Prior to the surgery, plans are made for an immediate temporary prosthesis, so that the patient will never be without teeth. There are prerequisites for using the installed implant:

  • Sufficient torque (greater than 35 N.cm)
  • Long implant (longer than 11 mm)
  • Implant with sufficient diameter: Larger than 3.75 mm
  • Planning a prosthesis compatible with the implant‘s ability to withstand forces
  • Sufficient number of implants
  • Good distribution of implants in the arch
  • Patient without bruxism symptoms
  • People without symptoms of diseases that compromise tissue and bone healing (e.g. diabetes)
  • Non-smoking patient (smoking greatly reduces the chance of implant success)
immediately loaded implant
Immediate loading means that the implant will be loaded with the crown as soon as it is inserted. In practice, loading occurs with the placement of the tooth, which will transmit the force of chewing through the implant to the bone.

This means that not all cases are good for immediate loading. Sometimes, only during implant installation will we be able to tell if the implant has met the requirements for immediate loading. Therefore, in some cases immediate loading can be aborted to allow the implant to heal in a conventional way (between 3 and 6 months).

If the surgery goes well, you can then start on the provisional or even definitive prosthesis, which requires molds and measurements of the arch. Immediate loading is usually carried out with a temporary prosthesis and, after the implants and gums have healed (between 3 and 6 months), the definitive prosthesis is made.
Watch the video below where we show the total implant surgery and the installation of the protocol prosthesis.

YouTube video player

Although it is possible to carry out the treatment with the definitive material initially, we consider it better to make a temporary prosthesis, as the gums must swell and the bone changes shape during the initial three months of healing after surgery.

Best material for fixed prostheses

Currently, the most modern material for fixed prostheses is zirconia. Zirconia is a biocompatible material in line with the biological dentistry trend, which seeks to avoid the use of metals in dental treatments. It is also highly resistant and can be designed using computer graphics, which gives a much more natural aesthetic result compared to other types of dental prosthesis materials.

Dental contact lenses – Day Clinic

The application of dental contact lenses is a modern technique that primarily serves to correct aesthetic problems in the teeth, making them more beautiful and uniform. This is one of the dental aesthetic procedures that the ImplArt dental clinic can carry out with more agility in Day Clinic service for patients who come from other states or even abroad.

What are dental contact lenses?

Dental contact lenses are very thin sheets of porcelain (only 0.2 mm thick) used to correct certain aesthetic problems with the teeth, such as stains, chips, exaggerated gaps between teeth (diastemas), very short teeth, asymmetrical teeth, among others.Dental contact lenses are therefore custom-designed on a computer and manufactured on 3D printers. They are made from computerized Emax porcelain, which is why they can be called Porcelain Lenses.

Porcelain is a biosecure material with visual characteristics very similar to natural teeth. Ultra-thin dental contact lenses are different from ordinary veneers, as they require less or no wear on the teeth to be applied. Other advantages of contact lenses at Day Clinic:

  • Completely painless procedure
  • Possibility of changing the shape, size and color of teeth
  • Preserves tooth structure
  • The lenses do not cause any discomfort to the chewing function
  • Long durability
  • There is no color change in porcelain over the years
  • Incredibly natural and harmonious result
  • Computerized planning allows for more precise, personalized and faster treatment.
aesthetic dental

How are dental contact lenses applied at the Day Clinic?

  • 1 – ImplArt’s specialized professional takes a digital mold of the teeth using intraoral scanners.
  • 2 – The result is then digitally simulated using software so that it can be presented to and approved by the patient;
  • 3 – The approved model is then sent to the laboratory to have the ultra-thin, highly durable porcelain dental contact lens made. The lens is made using 3D printers, which guarantee the quality of the work;
  • 4 – The dentist glues the dental contact lens with specific adhesive material to the front of the previously prepared tooth.

The Day Clinic service is a great option for people who want or need to solve aesthetic problems with their teeth in just a few days, such as during a quick trip to São Paulo or due to the proximity of an important event.

In less complex cases, the ImplArt dental clinic applies dental contact lenses with all the convenience of Day Clinic planning. Normally, this whole process takes between 7 and 30 days, but with ImplArt’s Day Clinic planning, this time can be reduced. The application of this technique, as well as the shortened time frame, depends on a clinical analysis to verify feasibility and ensure a good indication.

Make an appointment to see if you could benefit from this technique or if you have any questions, please contact us.
