Dental contact lenses – Dental Porcelain Veneers

Dental contact lenses are a type of ultra-thin porcelain veneer (0.2 mm) used to correct certain aesthetic problems with the teeth.

Dental contact lenses to transform the appearance of your teeth

Aesthetic treatment for stained, misaligned, asymmetrical or broken teeth

Dental lenses work like “covers” that are glued onto one or more teeth to cover stains, small fractures and other defects, or to change the shape and size of teeth. Dental contact lens treatment is the smile of the famous.

Dental contact lenses are completely computer-designed and then made from dental porcelain using milling machines (3D printers). Dental porcelain is a vitreous ceramic material (lithium disilicate) that is very resistant and mimics the texture and shade of natural teeth.

It is also a safe material and therefore totally biocompatible with the human body. The computerized design is based on images taken by an intraoral scanner – a high-precision camera.

dental contact lenses
Dental contact lenses step by step (in case of dental asymmetry)

At the end of the milling process, the dental contact lenses have a shape, color and texture comparable to natural teeth, even imitating the characteristics of neighboring teeth. Because they are ultra-thin, installation requires little or no wear on the natural teeth.

The lenses are then bonded with dental cement activated with a light-curing device. ImplArt uses one of the best contact lens light-curing devices on the market, making treatment more efficient and safer. Find out more.

Aesthetic and fast orthodontic braces

Self-ligating aesthetic orthodontic braces

A modern resource for aesthetic and fast orthodontic treatment

Aesthetic braces and self-ligating braces: what are the advantages over conventional orthodontic appliances?

Braces that don’t use rubbers

In conventional braces, the metal wire (orthodontic archwire) is attached to the brackets by small rubber bands. In self-ligating orthodontic braces, the wire is passed through a channel in each bracket and attached by small caps, thus eliminating the need for rubber bands.

Self-ligating braces are more aesthetic

The absence of rubber bands in self-ligating aesthetic braces is certainly what makes this model more discreet compared to conventional orthodontic appliances. In addition, the brackets can be made of translucent material on the front of the appliance. The pieces are also smaller than in other types of braces, making them more discreet.

More hygienic

The advantage of this method is that the absence of rubber bands makes oral hygiene easier and the patient doesn’t run the risk of losing some of them during treatment, which would loosen part of the wire. Absent rubber bands also help prevent the accumulation of food residue as well as plaque and cavities.

Faster treatment with self-connected devices

There are studies that prove that orthodontic treatment with self-ligating braces can be faster (up to 7 months faster than conventional braces). This advantage is mainly due to the lower friction between brackets and wire in this model, which makes tooth movement faster.

As a result, visits to the dentist’s office become less frequent, as there is no need for a lot of maintenance to change the rubber bands (rubber bands lose their elastic properties and strength over time, so they need to be constantly changed).

The auto-on device is more comfortable

For the patient, the greater freedom in moving teeth with self-ligating braces means more comfort and fewer episodes of pain during treatment, as self-ligating braces exert a lighter and more gradual force than conventional braces. Self-ligating braces also require fewer tooth extractions to be installed.

Indications of auto-on devices

Self-ligating aesthetic orthodontic braces, like conventional braces, can be used for a variety of orthodontic problems. However, it has a slight advantage in treatments that require arch expansion (smile opening). Self-ligating orthodontic braces can be used, for example, for:

  • Misaligned teeth
  • Missing teeth
  • Teeth growing in the wrong place (roof of the mouth, next to the tongue, rotated as well as crowded)
  • Open bite
  • Crossbite (the top teeth fit inside the bottom teeth when you close your mouth)
  • Swallowing difficulties
  • Bone changes (chin too far forward or back)
  • Mouth breathing
  • Retained milk tooth (the child’s tooth doesn’t fall out and the permanent tooth isn’t born)

Self-ligating braces: are there any disadvantages?

There are no major disadvantages to treatment with self-ligating braces.The price is still higher compared to conventional braces, but there are certainly many advantages added to the value of the treatment, especially for adults.

Transparent aligner

Almost imperceptible device

ImplArt clear aligners are a new option for orthodontic treatment. The main advantage of this method is that clear aligners are very discreet and hardly anyone will notice that you’re wearing them. Just to illustrate, unlike conventional fixed orthodontic appliances, ImplArt clear aligners are plate-shaped and do not have brackets, metal wires or colored rubber bands.

The way they work is similar, but there are other differences, as you’ll see below. It consists of the sequential use of different plates, with minor adjustments to each one. The patient wears each aligner for about 2 weeks and the teeth move progressively until they reach the ideal position.

The aligner plates are custom-made for each patient, based on a digital mold taken from the teeth and a detailed plan made by our specialist team using an intraoral scanner.

In this computerized planning, tooth movement can be simulated in advance with three-dimensional images and the patient can follow the progress. Other advantages of ImplArt transparent aligners:

  • They can be removed by the patient for regular oral hygiene and eating;
  • They don’t interfere with speech;
  • Prevents irritation to gums and mucous membranes;
  • They require fewer office visits for strength adjustments;
  • More aesthetic than conventional braces.

Indications for transparent braces

Problems such as tooth misalignment, crowding, gaps between teeth (diastema), dental malocclusion, crossbite and overbite can be solved with orthodontic treatment.

Aligning plates can be designed to move some or all of the teeth, depending on the needs of each case. Many orthodontic problems, if not treated correctly, can damage your health and well-being throughout your life.

The most common problems are: pain in the muscles and bones of the face, pain and clicking in the temporomandibular joint, facial asymmetry, the appearance of periodontal disease, plaque build-up, tartar, gingivitis, tooth decay, snoring, sleep apnea, speech and chewing problems, among others.

Straumann implants are considered the best dental implants in the world

Straumann implants advantages

In collaboration with leading clinics, research institutes and universities around the world, Straumann has been researching and developing high-techdental implants, surgical instruments, prosthetic components and biomaterials for oral tissue regeneration since 1974.

Straumann’s products and services are available in more than 70 countries. This standard of excellence certainly allows dentists to offer their patients less traumatic, less invasive treatments with predictable long-term results, both aesthetic and functional.

Straumann implants are manufactured with three basic requirements in mind: reliability (scientific research), simplicity (ease of use) and versatility (diverse applications).

The brand has an extensive range of implants with different sizes, diameters, angles, material composition and surface technologies, which considerably increases the possibilities for rehabilitation in various situations.

Straumann Implants Technologies

Regarding the level of implant positioning compared to the bone and gingiva:

  • Straumann Soft Tissue Level Implants – higher tooth connection implants, at gingival level.
  • Straumann Bone Level Implants bone level implants with internal connection, with the aim of preserving bone and gum tissue, as well as favoring aesthetic results.

Regarding the material that makes up the implant and its healing time

  • PURE Ceramic impl ants – pure white ceramic, zirconia implants that are mainly indicated for the anterior region of the arch. This provides a better aesthetic result for the treatment (estimated healing time = 2 months)*.
  • SLActive implants – implants with surface technology that not only favors but also accelerates the osseointegration process (estimated healing time = 21 days – 1 month)*
  • Roxolid SLA implants implants made with titanium and zirconia reinforcement. They are small in size and highly resistant, making them ideal for patients with little bone volume (estimated healing time = 2 months)*.

* According to the manufacturer. Compliance with the deadline will depend on other factors such as the quality of the bone, the presence or absence of a bone graft, associated tooth extraction, infections at the site and insertion torque.

implante de zirconia Pure Ceramic Straumann
Straumann Pure ceramic: White ceramic implants, suitable for highly esthetic situations.

Regarding the type of connection between the implant and the dental prosthesis – type of platform

  • Cone Morse connection – a locking system that favors better stability of the tooth and thus prevents it from loosening in the future. In addition, the cone-morse connection promotes a better seal in the implant-tooth connection, reducing infiltration and the number of bacteria around the implant. This effect is known as Platform Switch in scientific literature.

Straumann short implants

Straumann Standard Plus Short (SPS) implants are the shortest implants available on the market (they are only 4mm long) and are especially suitable for patients who, for whatever reason, find themselves with limited bone availability.

gum surgery

The lack of sufficient bone height in the mandible contraindicates the use of normal-length implants, unless this height is first reconstructed with bone grafting. The most common cases that compromise bone availability are:

  • Severe mandibular bone resorption – very common in people who have been edentulous for many years;
  • Poor bone quality; History of periodontal disease;
  • Patients with other medical conditions, such as diabetes, osteoporosis, etc.

Short implants for difficult rehabilitation cases

These implants give the dentist more confidence to recommend them to patients who were not previously candidates to receive them. They also improve the predictability of treatment and the chances of acceptance.

Because these implants are very versatile for use in patients with compromised bone availability, the indication of bone grafting for vertical reconstruction can be dispensed with in many cases, offering greater peace of mind and speed of treatment. Standard Plus Short implants are indicated for:

  • Fixed partial dentures/units with splint (one implant per unit);
  • Cases of pontics in combination with a longer implant;
  • Totally edentulous cases with at least two SPS implants in combination with two longer implants in the anterior region.

Straumann Standard Plus Short (SPS) implants are made from a titanium-zirconium alloy called Roxolid, which is proven to be stronger and better than pure titanium.

They also have a surface with SLActive technology which facilitates the start and acceleration of the osseointegration process. The indication of this or other dental implant models is subject to professional analysis of each case.

Straumann implants price

It’s common to be asked about the price of Straumann dentalimplants online. However, the price varies according to the clinical indication, the need for grafting or not, the number of implants used and the professional.

That’s why the price of a Straumann dental implant can only be estimated once the patient has been assessed in person. We are talking about the best brand of dental implants, accepted by patients who want the best for their dental treatment.

straumann implants
Slactive Straumann rapid healing implants. Favorable cases can be rehabilitated in just 1 month

Tooth replacement in just 1 month with Straumann implants and CAD/CAM crown

In selected cases, it is possible to install a dental implant with a CAD/CAM-designed crown within 1 month. This is possible because the ImplArt Clinic works with Straumann Slactive implants.

These implants have surface technology that favors and accelerates healing and the biological interaction between implants and bone (osseointegration). It’s worth remembering that dental implant surgery doesn’t hurt at all, and that implants can be placed at the same time as the bad tooth is extracted.

Successful osseointegration is certainly what guarantees the stability of the implant to support the prosthesis and the masticatory load over the years. With normal implants, osseointegration usually takes place between 6 and 8 months, while with Straumann Slactive implants the healing time can be reduced to 3 to 4 weeks (21 days).

Temporary prosthesis for healing and aesthetics

During this healing period, the patient wears a temporary prosthesis so that they don’t lose their tooth. In the meantime, our prosthetics laboratory carries out the digital CAD/CAM design and makes the definitive prosthesis using 3D printers.

The project starts with a digital mold that is taken using an intraoral scanner, an intraoral camera that captures precise images inside the patient’s mouth. This way, with these three-dimensional images, it is possible to design a prosthesis with the best fit and perfect shape for each need.

The prosthesis is made using a 3D printer. It can be made of porcelain, a very resistant, aesthetic material comparable to natural human teeth, and with a metal or zirconia internal structure.

It is worth noting that the possibility of installing a dental implant and definitiveprosthesis in just one month is only possible in selected cases. An assessment by our specialized team will determine this possibility taking into account certain characteristics, such as the volume of bone available and the patient’s general state of health.

Protocol zirconia prosthesis for complete upper jaw full dental implant

The zirconia protocol prosthesis for the complete upper jaw is a fixed aesthetic prosthesis on a titanium dental implant for oral rehabilitation. It involves computerized design methods, and has become the most requested option among patients looking to combine the strength of the material with its superior aesthetic result in a total dental implant and protocol prosthesis treatment.

Designed using computerized technology and a 3D scanner, zirconia protocol prostheses with full dental implants are the most modern option for replacing completely lost teeth. Combined with fast-healing implant types, such as the Straumann implant, they allow for complete rehabilitation in a short space of time.

Today there are very modern dental implant options, such as the Straumann ceramic implant, or the Neodent Zi zirconia implant, an excellent option for those looking for metal-free implant treatment. It is also important to know that the healing time for a dental implant can vary from 1 to 6 months, depending on the type of implant chosen.

Why is the zirconia protocol the best material today?

Zirconia protocol prosthesis treatment is fully computerized. In addition, it allows for faster results, much more predictability in treatment, as it relies on computer graphics. It also allows for an aesthetically impeccable result and a lot of resistance. In addition, the treatment is carried out using only 3D scanners, without the need for the old conventional molds.

The absence of teeth certainly compromises aesthetics and the patient’s quality of life, which is why the placement of implants with prostheses is able to give the person peace of mind when chewing, speaking and smiling.

The zirconia protocol has many advantages over the conventional resin protocol with a metal structure. Its main qualities are aesthetics and high resistance.

Dental zirconia (pre-sintered zirconium oxide) is a translucent, light-colored material that allows light to pass through, just like natural teeth, and therefore offers an aesthetic result. In this sense, the structure of the Zirconia protocol prosthesis looks discreet inside the prosthesis, even if exposed in brightly lit environments. Certainly the most modern materials are the Zirconia protocol and the porcelain protocol on a total implant.

Zirconia is made using a computerized 3D method and is not a manual job

The structure of the zirconia prosthesis is a single piece, obtained by milling a rough block on a machine that works like a 3D printer. In other words, the treatment is planned on a computer using CAD/CAM technology. The milling machine then wears away the zirconia block until it reaches the shape of the structure of the prosthesis designed to be installed on a dental implant.

Finally, the zirconia structure is characterized with porcelain and the shade is obtained by brushing on specific coloring liquids for this purpose. It is possible to reproduce various shades that make up the same tooth, leaving the prosthesis looking very natural.

The zirconia prosthesis is then screwed onto the dental implants, which are strategically placed in the jaw. The fixed zirconia protocol on implants can bring great relief, especially for patients who wear dentures. What’s more, this model of prosthesis leaves the roof of the mouth free and the patient feels more comfortable chewing and speaking.

Another great advantage of the zirconia protocol prosthesis over the resin protocol is its resistance to staining. In principle, resin is a material that can stain or yellow over time and with pigmented foods.

Advantages of the zirconia protocol:

  • More resistant, while resin can fracture
  • More aesthetic result because there is no metal in the structure (Metal Free Prosthesis)
  • Zirconia teeth are more resistant to staining than resin teeth
  • Computerized design makes it possible to create a prosthesis that is more precise and suited to the needs of each patient
  • Faster treatment
  • Materials that are biocompatible with the human body

Indications for fixed zirconia dental prostheses – Zirconia Protocol

In principle, the patient needs to go for a consultation with an implant dentist at the ImplArt Dental Clinic, so that clinical criteria such as bone volume and general oral conditions can be assessed.

Maxillary rehabilitation with a zirconia protocol can be indicated for people with total upper edentulism, even those who have been wearing removable prostheses for a long time.

Pure porcelain Emax crown for highly aesthetic implants

Contemporary dentistry continually seeks solutions that combine the highest functional performance with unparalleled aesthetics, especially in dental implant rehabilitations. In this context, Pure Emax crowns emerge as the material of choice for cases demanding maximum naturalness and seamless integration with the patient’s smile.

Unlike other materials, Pure Emax, a type of lithium disilicate, offers a translucency and opalescence that perfectly mimic natural tooth structure, making it the ideal choice for crowns over implants in highly aesthetic areas. It’s important to highlight that these cutting-edge solutions are crafted in Brazil, reflecting our Clinic’s commitment to excellence in dental technology and artistry. Discover how this advanced technology, with its roots in Brazil, is revolutionizing dentistry, providing results that exceed expectations and restore confidence and beauty to smiles.

The digital all-porcelain crown is a highly efficient ceramic system used to make prosthetic crowns for dental implants.

What are digital pure porcelain crowns made of?

Lithium disilicate ceramics have aesthetic and resistance properties comparable to natural teeth. They are the best and most technologically advanced materials for achieving aesthetic teeth because they are white and translucent, which makes the crown look natural even in the brightest of environments.

e.max ceramic was developed for use in Digital Dentistry Systems, with a 3D printer that sculpts dental prostheses. With this system, the all-porcelain crown can be made quickly, with more strength and naturalness than other materials made by hand.

What is the best material for pure porcelain digital prostheses?

The digital porcelain crown is made as a monoblock, i.e. it has no internal reinforcement layers, as the computer will create the crown from a prefabricated block of dental porcelain.

The Pura Digital porcelain crown is an evolution in the materials used in dental prostheses. With it, it is possible to reproduce details that make the prosthesis similar to natural teeth. With the Cerec System, the e.max crown is made more quickly and precisely, because it is designed on a computer and sculpted by robots.

The main advantages of modern porcelain crowns:

  • High resistance todental fracture and durability;
  • Very aesthetic look, comparable to a natural tooth;
  • Range of blocks with different colors and types of resistance for different uses;
  • Stain-resistant material;
  • It can be made using the Metal Free technique (no metal in the internal structure). This makes the crown look translucent and much more aesthetic in bright environments.
  • It can be designed and built quickly thanks to the Cerec system.

To make digitalpure porcelain crowns , we use CAD/CAM techniques:

1 – Intraoral scanner: It all starts with the digital molding of the dental implant with a high-precision color camera that takes images of the oral interior and sends them to the computer.

2 – Computer and software: receives the information captured by the intraoral scanner and carries out the simulation and personalized planning of the dental crown using three-dimensional images.

3 – Machine manufacturing: robots mill the e.max ceramic block based on the computerized design until the shape of the crown is achieved. The result is certainly a piece that is strictly compatible with the patient’s needs.

gum surgery
Pure porcelain crown for natural teeth

It is common for a temporary crown to be made before finalizing the permanent tooth to test whether the computer modeling is correct. Immediately after milling, the piece undergoes a crystallization process at approximately 850°C for 20 to 30 minutes and acquires high resistance, shade and translucency.

When the crown is finished, it is attached to the previously installed dental implant. For your convenience, the Cerec System and e.max ceramics are available at ImplArt Dental Clinic in Brazil. As an alternative to the pure porcelain crown, we now have an even more resistant material, translucent pure zirconia.

Treatment to correct teeth with orthodontics

Learn about the latest orthodontic treatment techniques for correcting teeth used at ImplArt. Aesthetic braces, self-ligating orthodontic braces, transparent aligners (invisible / transparent orthodontic braces) are some examples of how the evolution of techniques allows us to meet the various needs of those who need to align their teeth and achieve a more beautiful smile.

Braces types

Orthodontics is a dental specialty aimed, among other things, at correcting teeth, treating functional and aesthetic irregularities of the teeth and dental occlusion. Orthodontic treatment aims not only to correct crooked teeth, but also to adjust the complete functioning of the mouth, facial muscles, bones and joints.

Anomalies in any of these areas can interfere with oral health, speech, swallowing, breathing and the aesthetics of the face. ImplArt Odontologia performs orthodontic treatments with the most modern types of fixed and mobile orthodontic appliances.

self-ligating braces to correct teeth

Self-ligating orthodontic braces align teeth faster and more comfortably

The main feature of this type of appliance is that it doesn’t need elastics to attach the archwire to the brackets. In self-ligating braces, the archwire passes through small channels in each bracket and is attached to the caps.

In conventional braces, there is friction between the elastics and the metal archwire, which creates resistance and makes movement slightly slower. The absence of elastics in self-ligating braces allows the archwire to run more smoothly inside the bracket channels, making tooth movement faster and more comfortable for the patient.

Self-ligating orthodontic appliances: metallic, aesthetic-metallic and aesthetic

It can be made up of all-metal, aesthetic-metal or all-aesthetic parts (aesthetic fixed braces with brackets made from sapphire, porcelain or transparent or tooth-coloured polycarbonate).

Indication: various problems that cause dental malocclusion, from the simplest to those that require major movement, the most common being diastemas, misalignment of teeth, crowding, overbite, open bite, crossbite, among others.

Conventional braces to correct teeth

Conventional orthodontic braces are made up of wires, brackets and elastics. They can be metal or aesthetic (polycarbonate, porcelain or sapphire), while the elastics can be colored or transparent. Fixed orthodontic braces work by first bonding the brackets to the teeth. Next, an archwire is placed on each bracket and secured by elastic bands.

During treatment, a certain amount of force is gradually applied to each tooth in order to align and position them properly. The patient needs to visit the clinic regularly (determined by the orthodontist) to make the force adjustments and eventually change the rubber bands that have lost their elastic capacity over time.

Discomfort and a feeling of tightness may be felt in the first few days after these activations, but this is considered normal.

gum surgery
Conventional and aesthetic braces

This model of braces requires the patient to take special care with oral hygiene to avoid food debris and plaque forming around the elastics and brackets.

Indication: various problems that cause dental malocclusion, from the simplest to those that require major movement. The most common problems are diastemas, misalignment of teeth, crowding, overbite, open bite, crossbite, among others.

Transparent aligner plate to correct teeth discreetly

Completely free of metal parts and made from a biocompatible thermoplastic composition, transparent aligner plates are considered the most aesthetic option among orthodontic appliances.

Because they are transparent and have the same shape as the teeth, the aligner plates are almost imperceptible. This modern technique consists of the sequential use of aligner plates with small adjustments to each one (called attachments).

The plates are manufactured according to a computerized plan based on a mold of the patient’s arches. Each movement is planned and the patient is given an estimate of the duration of their treatment and the expected results. The patient receives the set of plates to be changed every 15 days (or at the dentist’s discretion).

gum surgery
Plate-shaped braces

It is a type of mobile orthodontic appliance or removable orthodontic appliance, meaning that the patient can take it out to eat and clean their mouth. However, it is extremely important that the patient does not stop wearing them for the prescribed time.

Indication: This technique is especially suitable for simpler orthodontic corrections. It is an option for adult patients who need orthodontic treatment but do not want visual impairment.

The duration of orthodontic treatment varies greatly, as it depends on the complexity of each case, as well as the body’s biological response, the type of appliance used and the patient’s cooperation. It’s always worth remembering that orthodontic treatment should be carried out by a specialized professional and never bought online or from street vendors.
